Unifor Online Education
Unifor offers several online courses on topics such as health and safety, grievance handling, and collective bargaining. To learn about the courses and how to access them, click here.
In-person Education at Unifor’s Family Education Centre in Port Elgin and Area Schools
Unifor offers courses at its Family Education Centre in Port Elgin, Ontario. Some units have Paid Education Leave (PEL) negotiated into their collective agreements, which provides funds for members to attend courses. For units without PEL, the local may be able to cover the cost of member course attendance, subject to available budgeted funds.
Unifor also offers courses through its Area Schools program. These courses are held across the country in various cities to bring union education to where members live.

Union Savings: Discounts for Unifor Local 567 Members
Unifor Local 567 is affiliated with Union Savings, a discount program that provides savings for union members and their families on a variety of things, including electronics, insurance, entertainment, and more. As a member of Unifor Local 567 you can create a Union Savings account to start using the program. To learn more about Union Savings and to create an account, click here.
Bourinot Rules of Order
Under Article 6(6) of the local’s bylaws, questions of a parliamentary nature at membership meetings shall be decided by Bourinot’s Rules of Order. In such a situation, Bourinot’s Rules of Order, 4th edition, by Geoffrey H. Stanford, will be used. It can be accessed by clicking here.
Unifor Clothing
Members can order Unifor Local 567 branded clothing by filling out the Unifor Local 567 Branded Clothing Order Form and submitting it to the Treasurer. To fill out the order form, you will need to find the items you wish to order in the Cavan Catalogue.
Members can also order clothing and other items from Unifor’s store and submit receipts to the Treasurer for reimbursement, within the annual limitation for reimbursement communicated by the local’s board. To view Unifor’s store, click here.
Steps to Justice: Ontario Legal Information
Members can access basic Ontario legal information on the Steps to Justice website. Information is available on several legal topics, including family law, criminal law, work and employment, and housing.
JusticeNet: More Accessible Legal Services
Members in need of legal services may be able to obtain reduced rates, depending on income and number of dependents. Please review the JusticeNet website for more information.
OmbudService for Life and Health Insurance
Members may be able to access free, independent, and impartial alternative dispute resolution services from OLHI to assist with disputes over life and health insurance claims. Please review the OLHI website for more information.
